Automatic Queue Warning

The ATMS can be configured detect congestion on the road network with physical traffic detectors, then automatically generate queue events.

When congestion is newly detected, an unconfirmed queue detection appears on the map with flashing icon, and a congestion alert is sent in the notification drop down. The operator can view event properties by clicking on the map icon or the notification, then take ownership of the event, and finally confirm or reject the detection.

Once the detection is confirmed, it becomes a full queue event, and the corresponding response is generated.

Queue Update

If the system detected the queue has lengthened or shortened, the queue event will revert to the unconfirmed state, with the flashing map icon and congestion alert notification. The operator can confirm or reject the update. If rejected, the event will re turn to its pre-update length and location.

Queue Clearance

Once no more congestion is detected, the event will update to the unconfirmed cleared state.

The operator can then acknowledge the detected congestion clearance, or clear the event. The event will remain the same if the clearance detection is only acknowledged.
