Introduction

This document describes the features of inSIGHT Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) supplied by Arcadis. The ATMS provides a unified interface for:

• Traffic Impacting Event Management

  • Recording and monitoring traffic incidents and congestion events
  • Managing planned closures for roadwork or special events
  • Recording and tracking weather events that impact the roadway network
  • Broadcasting information about events that impact the roadway network using ITS infrastructure such as Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR)
  • Notifying stakeholders about events that impact the roadway network via e-mail and SMS
  • Publishing information about events that impact the roadway to external systems, such as traveller information websites

• Traffic monitoring

  • Collection and display of traffic speed data
  • Identification of potential traffic events based on current traffic conditions
  • Presentation of potential traffic events from other sources such as WAZE or neighboring agencies
  • Access to CCTV camera streams

• Device management

  • Monitoring and reporting of field equipment statuses and current data
  • Posting messages to DMS and HAR Transmitters
  • Scheduling messages for DMS and HAR Transmitters

• Information Dissemination

  • Display of current travel times on DMS
  • Broadcast of current travel times through the ATMS API
  • Broadcast of current device statuses and messages through the ATMS API
