VDS

VDS Configuration​

VDS configuration is easily accessible from an existing device, either from the right-click menu on a device, or through the menu at the right of the device in the VDS List. New VDS can be added by clicking Add Device at the bottom of the VDS List.

General Information​

VDS consist of a common information, including:

  • ID: unique ID automatically assigned by the system upon creation
  • Description: text description of the location
  • Location: latitude and longitude for the station
  • Lanes: traffic detector lanes associated with the VDS

The system will populate the location of the VDS if no location is entered prior to selecting device lanes.

Select Lanes​

Selecting lanes to contribute data to the VDS is accessed via the Select Lanes button. A modal provides a map-based interface with system traffic detectors. VDS Details indicates information about the VDS, including the currently associated devices.

Selecting a detector on the map will populate the Selected Device information, including ID, Description, and Device Type. A list of lanes is also provided, with selected lanes indicated by a checkbox at the right. Detectors will only appear selectable on the map if they are associated with the VDS or have unassociated lanes.

Lanes will appear for selection if they match the directional roadway of lanes already configured for the VDS. If no lanes are selected, all available lanes from a traffic detector will appear. Lanes currently assigned to other VDS will not appear for selection.

VDS Parameters​

The maximum VDS length is a non-configurable value at this time.
